Why?
Sorry I have not posted anything for a long time, although I do read everything that is posted to try to keep track of all of you and pray for you as well.
I do need your prayers right now though. Yesterday afternoon I woke up from a nap after work to policemen banging on my door to tell me that one of my closest friends, Ben, had been biking in Langley and was struck by a car and did not survive. Ben was with me in Africa (he worked in Rwanda while I was in Uganda), and we spent a couple of months travelling together with 2 other friends. When he came back to BC he lived at my parents house for a few months until I got home. Long story short the police found our address through his license and thought we might be the family and I was the first person that found out what had happened.
Please pray. His parents are in Ontario and his sister Colleen (a very close friend of mine as well) is in Calgary and everyone is in a lot of shock. This morning I was actually supposed to drive to Calgary to visit Colleen and her husband for the weekend.
Fortunately Ben is with Jesus right now, and is maybe even hanging out with Britt. I feel fortunate that I was able to spend a lot of time with him these last couple of weeks. I would really appreciate all of your prayers.

I'm praying for you Lisa. That sucks a lot...I know we can all understand how you're feeling right now and hopefully we can be of help by lifting you up in prayer. Know that we are all supporting you in this.
Oh Lisa!!! I want to give you a hug right now! I'm sorry... wow, I know how hollow sorry sounds from experience but, I'm praying for you. Miss you Hon.
Lisa, that sucks Im so sorry to hear about your friend, I'm praying for you dear.
Wow, Lisa! May you be a blessing to that family, and may others surround you with an ear to listen and a caring heart. We will pray.
Aww man, that sucks so much! Ahhh sorry you gotta go thru this sort of situation again........ Yey for heaven though! I'll definately be praying!
Thanks guys for your prayers. It's been a hard weekend. I have his family all staying with me, and I was at Ben's place most of the day today helping pack up all of his things and making plans for the memorial, which is on Tuesday night. Continue praying - my heart hasn't felt this heavy in a while. Especially pray for his family - it's tough to see them have to deal with this.
