Calling All Masters Of The Web

Hey, those of you who love to create online! We would like to create a new home page for KaleoLife.ca from which a person can navigate to the Blogs for Kaleo One, Two, Three, Four or Thirty-Four. It can also be a page where news/pics for all three groups can be regularly posted. The address for this site will be www.kaleolife.ca, which is currently the address of Kaleo2's Blog.

So we are going to have a contest! You can submit your creation (or an address for it) to me, and a few of us current leaders will make the decision. We are looking for simplicity, functionality and full-out coolness of design. It can be a html site that has some easy way of posting news, or a css site, like a blog without archives. Submissions need to be received by February 15, 2006.

What's the prize? Your choice of one article of Kaleo clothing, of course! And the joy of seeing your creativity everytime you go to find out what is happening in the world of Kaleo.

By the way, Briercrest will soon launch a new Kaleo promo site at www.kaleo.ca. I have been reviewing the draft and it looks great! Check it out soon.

O and I want to hear about Missions Fest in Vancouver. If there are any pics (Dotto) I want to see them and hear about what all happened. I was so tempted to come down for it. I miss going. Anyways I got to get back to class.

Dave Horton is Alive!!!!

Hey Guys
So it has been awhile but things are definitely going well. Guess who I got to hang out with this weekend? You got it, Dave Horton. He was out here for Camp Days and it was so amazing to see him again and kill ourselves laughing just like old times. Dave does say hi and please forgive him for not posting here, he doesn't know how to. It is true, he has tried and the one time he did, it was on the Quotes site, oopsy, wrong one. So ya, last night Dave, Ryan and Amanda were over for dinner and it was so awesome to see them in Saskatchewan. Such great times. Hope you guys are doing well. Miss ya guys, Kristi

Missions Fest...again

Ok so im going to be at missions fest pretty much the whole time...at least i plan to be.
soooo I was thinking that the friday 5:30ish at the qwanoes booth would still be good and then on saturday at 11am at the entrance would be great for everyone who missed people on friday :D

Ok, so it sounds like Saturday is more plausible for most people in terms of getting together. Anyone want to make a suggestion as to a time? I can be there whenever. Vulnerability time with Julie

I've stopped praying.

Not 100% stopped. . .but more or less, it's over. Even when I'm able to choke out a word or two there just isn't any heart in it. And the reason? I can't stand to be hurt again.

I know that sounds strange. But honestly, what else am I supposed to feel? I spend hours upon hours pouring my heart out to God, crying, begging for His healing, His protection, His love to be poured out upon someone I love dearly. I pray for specific things. One night of safety. One specific circumstance to go well. But whatever I do, my prayers remain unanswered.

And each time this happens I feel the incredible pain of disappointment crushing me. I feel let down. I feel ignored. I feel like God's turned his back on me and on my friend. I feel angry. I feel all sorts of things that a "good Christian" wouldn't and shouldn't feel.

And finally I figured it out: if I don't pray, if I don't take the time to pour out my heart and beg for help, it doesn't hurt as much to see the situation remain unchanged.

I still hurt for my friend. I still cry for her, and I still do everything I can do to help her, but somehow I feel like I can survive much better without prayer.

I'm scared to let this out. I'm scared of every possible response, from condemnation to Sunday School answers. But I don't really know what it is that I'm looking for. Maybe I'm just venting. Maybe I need someone to point me back in the right direction. Or maybe I'm just done with God. I don't know.

FAR TO EXCITED TO SLEEP!

Ok, so the VERY FIRST COLLIDE, just finished. I am sweaty, smelly, haven't eaten since breakfast, my feet hurt and I AM SO EXCITED FOR LIFE!

I have found my spot in the world! It's Official!

So this huge pre-teen youth rally me and 2 other youth pastors (Rob and Grant) just finished and calling it a success is an understatement. It was so AMAZING! God is so faithful and so good, so many ting could and did go wrong but somehow it all worked out. There were about 200 people (leaders and kids) there from TSAWWASSEN and LADNER there and I just know this is the start of something BIG!

It has already done AMAZING things to Bring all the local churched together despite denomination. You guys this is so huge because it's not just bring pre-teens together, it's bringing everyone! Thru planning for this I have made friends with Pentacostals, Mennonites and everything! haha, And not only that It was amazing to delegate things of to my leaders to friends and see them come thru a hundred percent! My firend Jeff lead the singing/band, and it was out of this world! My 2 friends ashley and erin (and 2 youth) were my go-to people and did the million little things that needed to be done but I forgot about. They did them before I even finished asking and were running around all night, helping me. Judy and her husband( she runs our AWANA PROGRAM) came just to see, have fun and support us. I love how my church surrounded me and supported me with this night. I know it really built us up! Ok I just can't put this into words, but you guys this a BIG thing God is doing here, and He let me be a part of it!

Deep Thought Needs Answers...

So I had a thought just now...I am changing my fish's water, so i got some tap water in a jug to get it to room temperature. And my thought is: Which is faster - hot water getting to room temperature, or cold water getting to room temperature? Which is it??? Anyways, if no one does help me out here, it's okay, because I'm doing an experiment later. Tally ho!

And on a more life note...I think I am switching schools again...yup.

I QUIT!

I gave my 3 weeks notice, just now.Hahah I totaly just quit my job. CRAZZY! I mean I've never QUIT anything before.

Actualy if you guys could pray that would be awesome! I don't know exactly how to deal with this.......Like the girls are amazing, and Lori is probably the best boss you could ask for....but in her exact words(copy and pasted from her e-mail) "You repeatedly want to leave early or take time off to attend to your real passion, your Church" And it's true, I think of my job @ the church as my passion, what I put first and nannying just is seccond and in the background. It sucks cuz this isn't a normal job, there's kids and relationships involved. So things to pray for

1) that the girls, sammy and lauren, won't think it's their fault that I'm leaving or anything like that
2)***That they would find a new AMAZING nanny soon. A really good nanny that is exactly what they want and that will love the kids and make their lves easier
3)That things would end on a good note
4) Than I find a new, good paying job soon.

I now have a office @ my church (well it's an old deserted sunday school room, but were making it into an office) I love it there, I can't explain how much I really do. Ahhh life is so good. I' really excited about this change, hopefuly this change will give me more time to work there.

Hey when I have time I'll introduce you to Billy, He's my new Car!

Christmas update!

My christmas was good! and New Years was fun! We had a great dinner @ the Badke's friday night with Nikki, Ty, Danny (and CIT friends) Amanda Bowe and her boy friend Kyle (from Kaleo 2). It was great, We laughed a lot and it was really fun times!
