Kaitie: STaff concierge, Qwanoes

I finally did it!! I am working at Qwanoes this summer as staff concierge! I am totally freakin out because I have so much to do before I go, and I still have to finish my biology course by correspondence. But I am sooo excited about doing this position I love it already. I think this is going to be a fun summer.
pleease pray for me as I get myself ready for qwanoes and as I raise support. support is going to be huge considering I am going to be unemployed in september. your prayer will be much appreciated.
miss you all
from Kaitie

It's Official!

I was planning on volunteering with UrbanPromise again this summer, but now it looks like things have changed.

Instead, they're going to pay me to come!!!

As of today, I am officially the director of a new after-camp program at Camp Peace (the UP camp that I've worked at since the beginning)!!! I just spent an hour on the phone with the Ministry Director, planning the new program and my schedule. I get to work with a team of youth from the neighborhood and take care of 25 kids every day after camp ends. It's especially exciting because this new program makes it possible for a lot of kids to be a part of Camp Peace who otherwise would have to go elsewhere.

And now I know how I'm going to pay for school next year! Hoorah!!!

Yey for NZ!

Long Time no Posting.

Yey! I'm in New Zealand and Honestly, wanting to stay here a lot longer! I jsut came back from spending a week with Ben and Milly! Yey for Qwanoes Staff! A lot of you will remember them from that first summer after kaleo, and Ben was there this summer too!

I've gotten to do so much down here, everything from rugby games, to rock climbing, mountain Biking, I went to Piha (a famous Beach) Flew Down to the South Island, stood at the southern most point of NZ, seen too many sheep to count, mooed at cows, Eaten a ton of Nutela, Gone to Camp NZ Style, gone hunting, AHHH SO MUCH! Oh and I look after 3 great kids!

I'm in love with my church here and they have already become a family! I've gotten involved with the Youth group and I have a great group of Girls in my small group! I love that sunday afernoons here! Hanging out with friends, good food and great adventures. 2 weeks ago a bunch of us went to watch a few of our friends Bungee Jump! Yey! We all had to climb the bridge to get to the Jumping platform, that was awesome, don't worry we had harnesses!

So that is a very quick up-date on my time here! Hahaha I don't want to come back! I see why Jim and Saah say they've left a bit of their heart here! This place is very close to Paradise!

Ok, I return to Canada June 14th....have training for a few days and than.......CAMP for a few days..hopefully!

Hope you all are doing well!

God Bless!~

~Dotto~

my new calling in life....a cashier

hey kaleo
just thought i would let you know what i have been up to since i have arrived back in maple ridge. went to a switchfoot concert and the harlem globetrotters. ashley stopped in for a night, kailyn stopped in for a day and night and now i am working at langley farm market in maple ridge just up the street from me. i am making $8 an hour and having an awesome time. i walk to work most of the time if it is not raining, it takes me like only 20 min. having a good time with the people i am working with. i have had to memorize so many codes for fruit and vegetables. it is somewhat overwhelming but i think i know almost all of them. i haven't been doing a whole lot since i have been home, kinda nice but i haven't been home for such a long time that there is really no one around, so that kinda of sucks but i think this is my continuation of learning to be by myself and being content with that and who I am. if you don't know, that was what the whole year was at school. so i have realized that and just enjoying what i am doing. so ya, that is just an update of what is happening in my life. i should be heading to vancouver island for qwanoes open house on june 10, i think it is. so if anyone is there, come on down and chill for a day. hope you are all doing well. love your sister, kristi

This just in...

...Pam is ALIVE!

Yesterday Pam took the train over to Waterdown and we all enjoyed Boston Pizza (Pam had NEVER been) catching-up, and a rip-roaring game of Wizard. Nothing like playing games with the Adams'. Can we say competitive!?!? But not to worry, we're still all friends!

We miss you all and we're thinking a Kaleo reunion is on order. Think about it...

The Adams' do it again

Hey I finally recovered my account and my password so I can post. So think it is a first, the continuation of legacy of Adams boys in Kaleo. My brother is now going to Kaleo, just being accepted a couple of days ago I think, he reall didn't tell anyone in our family that he had been accepted. So that is pretty cool.

As for me I am actually at school as I write this about to write my finall exam in history, and as you can tell by me posting on the blogger at this juncture that I am not too worried about it. I am working part time for 2 different people in my church and then in 3 or 4 weeks going to be moving to the Big W. In two days I also have a special visitor coming for a week and I am looking forward to that very much. Oh and another thing, the other week a guy from church who I play hockey with gave me a 94 ford escort in pretty good condition for free, yeah free.

It has been good reading everyone else's messages and hope you are all doing great.

New Life Plans!

Hey fellow Kaleoers!
Thought I'd just mention my new life plans! I am going to yet another school. I'm not completely proud of the fact, but oh well. I am sticking to this one for good, and if I don't, SOMEONE GIVE ME A FIRM TALKING TO!!!
School: Okanagan College (Kelowna)
Program: Therapist Assistant (for physio, occupational, and recreational therapy)
Okay so it's a two year diploma program. I feel bitter that I am not going to a university and getting a degree. Oh well, I think this is what I will really really enjoy!! Optimally, I would love to work in a children's development facility! Yay excitement. In other news, my dad's eye is healing surely but slowly - he's back to work anyways, and my back is also healing slowly. yay.
The end!

Where's Julia?

Hey Guys,

Sorry, I spoke too soon! The short story is, due to the lack of a reliable car and less than expected tax return, here I sit in Winkler! That's right, no trip. So thank-you to all of you who offered up your couches (I'll take a rain cheque!) and we'll catch up soon...

Miss ya and Love ya!

Kristi and Tarchuk back together again...in Maple Ridge

Hey Guys
So yesterday morning I got an email from Ashley saying that she was on her way through and wondering if she could crush for the night and what did I say? Heck Yes!!!! It was grand fun, we talked to Dotto on msn but then soon forgot we were talking to her because we were just telling stories from the past year. We had Chai Tea (Kaleo style) and banana bread that I made earlier that night. It was so great. We got up early this morning and walked to Starbucks and had coffee, so yummy. It was a short visit but so great. Here are some pictures that we took to document that we were back together again. Love ya guys, Kristi
PS. Pray that I find a job soon!
