Jordan's Whits End
Sooooooooooooo Jordan has come to his whits end. I have come to the conclusion that I have become everything that I cannot stand: A Bible College Student.
We constantly sit in classes talking about formulation, calculations, explanations of how to do church and be a Christian. We argue with eachother about what is true theology and what is the authentic church. What does the holy spirit do today and which culture is true christian culture. Well, I have come to be whitsend on this! I cannot stand it anymore. We forget about the people, the person sitting next to you on the subway, the mother raising 2 children by herself, the grandfather sitting in a retirement home who has gone through all the major crisis of this century, the child stairing at you with an innocent look in his eyes. We forget about the fact that God doesn't care about formations, calculations, and explanations. We forget about living theology, instead of talking theology. Finally, we forget about the fact that GOD DOES NOT NEED US! As soon as we realize he does not need us, everything we become so passionate about in classees, in dorm discussions, in arguements with an aethiest, really doesn't mean that much. God does not need us, HE WANTS US. This is the living theology we must live out, the fact that we are so gratful that God created us so that we may be with him. We live for God, God does not exist to live for us. Here is my rant on "Being a Bible College Student". Take it for what it's worth.
Time to live theology, and care about the people, this is living for God.

Dang that felt good to get that out! :)
Hey Jordan! Good rant. I have been coming to the same conclusion, that God allowing me to listen a few minutes ago to a student who broke with his girlfriend is an amazing, awesome privilege. Nothing to do with me being an amazing counselor (I'm not) - he just wanted to bless me with the opportunity to invest in this guy. God needs me less than Google needs this little blog. But he sure loves me, and he knew that I needed the opportunity to listen to this student as much as the student needed to talk. All day long today I have heard people say that time with people is higher priority than getting work done, and though I want to get their Pentateuch papers on time I must agree.
Well said Jordan :D
