Global Warming....Seriously though!

Oh my Gosh!

Everyone has to see this Documentary!

I thought Global Warming was just this little problem that was hoe hum, never even thought about it much, Oh gosh, I was wrong it's huge! Who knew?

I have never heard anyone (except Al Geore) talk about this, after listening to millions camp speakers, pastors, sermons and even bible college professors I have never once heard about (or was listening to hear) how were ruinging the earth, LITERALY!

Ok, we focus so much on telling people about Jesus, making attractive yoth group activities and fun games at camp to bring people in so we can tell them about Jesus, we focus so much on this I was just wondering tonight if were focusing too much on 1 area? (don't get me wrong all thoes things are great!)

God gave us the earth and we are suposed to be good stuarts of it. Well us Christians, it doesn't seem like were really taking the lead on this (maybe I'm just speaking for myself, don't take this as an insult...I know lot's of christians out there are doing things about it, but I also know lot's aren't). We gotta step up. It would be soo cool if instead of preaching at people we just do a really amazing job at loving God and the creation he has put us in charge of. Than won't that make people see how real our God is. If were trying so hard we must really believe in what were trying for! No wonder people have trouble believeing in our God or the way he created the earth, a lot of us Christians maybe don't even believe in it enough to act on it. and If were not acting on our beliefs and just preaching them, who will take us seriously or believe us?'

It's like someone trying to sell you the most amazing face cream that will make you look 10 years younger, but the slaeswoman looks really really old and has never even tryed it herselF. oBVIOUSLY SHE DOESN'T BELIEVE IN THIS PRODUCT OR THINK IT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO TRY HERSELF. So what than is the chance you'll be persuaded to try it for yourself? Not very likely!

Ok this is just a little un-edited rant or thoughts on Global warming. It is very important if you watch this documentary not to go from Disbelief to Belif to Dispare cuz that won't fix anything! The hard part is now to figure out what we as Christians should do about it and indivigualy what to do. Or mabey to research a bit more Find out what Christians already are doing and than JOIN IN! Ohh so much to do! Like should I trade in My little mazda for a new green car that works on electricity as well as gas? Should we all install solar panals on our houses? Buy all new energy efficient appliances? How much does God want us to do? What does it mean to be a good stuart.......ohhh this is only the tip of the ice burg, so much to learn so much to do! I'm gunna start by recycling this water bottle in my hand and telling my youth group kids to do the same! hahah

what do you guys think???????

Thought you all might like to read this...

I just got a letter from Kristen and Kevin (Britt's sister and her husband) and they've had a Baby girl! Here's the letter
Hello dear friends far and near! Most of you have probably already heard that we are the extremely proud parents of the most beautiful little girl on earth who came flying into the world on Sunday November 5th at 9:08 in the morning! She weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces and was 49.5cm long and we were in love with her immediately (which was good since there was really nothing too "lovely" about the labor process! But, I shouldn't complain, seven hours from start to finish is pretty intense but relatively short for a first-time mom. only now can I acknowledge that it was a blessing!).Her name is Maisha Brittany Grace.MAISHA (mah-EE-shah) is the Kiswahili word which means LIFE. amidst all the challenges and pain of the past years she reminds us that the only one who gives us meaning and purpose and hope in our lives here on earth is Jesus Christ who has promised his followers "life and life to the full." even in the midst of trials and tears. even at only 13 days old she is so full of life and promise.BRITTANY was, of course the name of my sister, Maisha's dear auntie who she will meet in heaven one day. and GRACE is what we have learned to live on and hopefully what we are able to give to others too. Grace is also what Maisha needs as her parents learn the ropes of loving and caring for her!Anyhow, we are doing very well and believe it or not, parenting instincts have totally taken over the both of us adult Dyckers! I am healing well and as of two days ago am able to walk my normal pace and distances which is a special blessing for sure. Please join us in celebrating the arrival of Maisha. the arrival of LIFE.Hope you can open up the attached photos of our little popsicle princess!Blessings.Kevin & Kristen

Another little Brittany!

Julie - Woman of the Forest

It's been a while since I've posted on here, but I thought it might be time for an update! I was kind of feeling like in order to post I needed some really exciting news to share. But alas, my life has not been all that exciting as of late, so just a regular old update will have to do!

For those of you who I haven't talked to in forever, I'm in Victoria right now, living with my mom and Tarchuk. I'm in my second year of school, working towards my elementary education degree and I'm working at an after school program right now, which is...well, work. But better than many other jobs, I suppose. I've been back in Victoria for a year and a bit now, and I'm only just starting to feel connected again, which is so, so good. I'm helping out with the middle school youth at my church and I'm part of a small group and things are going really well with all that stuff. After a really tough couple of years, I think that things are starting to heal in my relationship with God. Slowly but surely.

I've been thinking about Kaleo a lot lately, as there's a lot going on in my life, and I find myself wishing that I could go back to being "Julie - Woman of the Forest". I feel like I need a good romp in the woods, so I can take some time to think through all that's going on. And I miss you guys! I miss having people to talk to about anything at any time of day. I hope someday we'll be able to have that reunion we all keep talking about! It would be so good to see everyone again. Maybe we could go on a big out trip and enjoy the rain together!

I miss you guys, and I think it's time for everyone to give an update on their own lives. I don't even know where half of you are! Let's start a blog revival! Come on, everyone! Peer pressure! (or as Tarchuk would say, "Do it...Doooo iiiiit!")
