Some exciting news....

So I just thought I would let you in on some exciting news. On Monday afternoon, I had a meeting/interview with Kevin Fawcett (Director of YQ) discussing have me join the core team of being the YQ Office Intern (not the YQ intern if you get confused). My responsibilities would be working in the office, ordering food for kickoff, registering youth groups for YQ and even designing the clothing for YQ. How exciting would that be? So you are all wondering if I got the job, I sure did. I found out the next day and they wanted me to be on the YQ core team for YQ 2007. So I am really pumped about all of this and can't wait to see what is up ahead. I will also need your prayers though, my first semester back, I will be taking 5 classes and a modular and I am moving back onto dorms, which I am really excited about. So ya, just thought I would let you all know what is ahead in my life. Also pray for the summer, I don't know what I am doing yet, all I know is that I will be home. If anyone has a job for me, let me know. Love ya guys, Kristi

NO ITALY!

Sorry, I'm not going to Italy, Tarchuk wsa right, yarr people know me too well!

Well I really was going to go to Italy, I had a great offer to go there, but I just had this feeling to wait, so I did and this Great family from NZ contacted me! They sound just great! And I just had this feeliing that NZ was the place I should go!

So After a huge ordeal @ the travel agents, I somehow secured my flight for 1200 dolollars, including taxes, which it totaly a God thing because it was looking like the cheapst I was going to be able to ge was 1700, which I could not afford. So after an hour @ the Travel Agents we got this sweet deal. She even said she doesn't know how Igot it that cheap this last minuit and that something must be working for me, cuz seriously all the flights weree full except for this one flight that worked perfect with my dates!

I'm working as a nanny for a family with a 13 year old, 11 year ole and 7 year old. I'm amazingly excited about getting to know the 13 yeasr old girl! I've been talking with her a lot over skype (which you all have to get - www.skype.com - )and I think we'll get along really well. I've been in contact with a church near by that I'll be able to be a youth leader with for my 2 month stay. So hopefuly The 13 year old will want to come with to Youth group......learn about Jesus......and LOVE HIM! hehehe Oh my!

So pray that I'll be able to be a great witness to this family! I mean it's a great oippertunity, when elso will I get a chance to live with a family, 24/7. Such a great oppertunity for them to see something different with me...and than for me to tell them it's JESUS! heheh woho!

I'm making a blog for myself that you all will have to check so you can see what's up in New Zealand!

And Tarchuk, my tickets are bought and paied for, so it's official, you can believe that I'm actualy going now. Funny thing my friends here say they won't believe me wither till I show them my tickets, hahah!

I got board so..............

I decided to go to Italy!

Well origionaly it was going to be New Zealand, but after looking @ airfare I decided on Italy instead!

I leave April 19th and return June 20th!

I'm gunna go and be an au pair wile there!

It's still a little up in the air, I'll hopefuly buy my tickets tomorrow!

When I get back I'm working for this Mountain Biking Company that does day camps here in the lower mainland!

Origionaly I was just an instructor, but I worked for them last week for one of their spring break camps, and they were so impressed with my game ideas, songs and stuff like that they they just today asked me to be the assistant supervisor for the Richmond Camp! This is huge! I'm so excited for it! Camp Qwanoes has trained me so well. haha things that have just become seccond nature at Qwanoes are seen as great and origional Ideas at this camp! Hahah so I'm super excited that I'm taking all my experience @ Qwanoes and using it in another situation! I'm also super excited for my ministry oppertunity to fellow staff! There all great people and I can't wait to get to know them better!

So that's all the happenings in my life right now! I'm pretty much in perma-excited-mode, Life is so good!

And finaly, a weeik after, I have posted pictures of my awesome few days on the island! It was grand!

I hung out with Kaleo 3 kids. Celebrated Phil's B-day! Hung out with the little Kaleo 2 Reunion 9Sarah, Mike, John, Jen, Phil, Cassia, and I even saw nate @ the ferry!) Learned how to play slap-and totaly sucked at it! All in all it was a lot of fun!

Oh and than there was my time in victoria! Hahah well........I LOCKED MY KEYS IN THE CAR, when Julie, Tarchuk, Kaitey (I never know how to spell your name!) John, Ben Bad and myself were ahving lunck at Red Robin! haha we were gunna call Julia, but I couldn't get to my phone cuz it was in the Car. But DON'T WORRY! an UNNAMED man, who ashley and I know the name of but I can't tell you cuz I told him I wouldn't, what was I saying...Oh yah witht he aid of Ashley's BCAA (but the Ablerta one) carrd a wonderful toe truck came and opened my door for me, I took a picture and told him I was gunna blog it! hahah needless to say he though we were.....well probably some of his more unique cuostemers of the day! hahah! Oh but it was fun! Ok Sarah keesler was there too! Ohh and I DROVE THERE! IN MY CAR ...hahah which I locked my keys in.

Ohh than we saw Katey's new place! It's sweet!

Wow babe, I can't believe that your 21, you are now legal in the USA. It has been a blessing being friends with you over these almost 3 years. We have gone through so much together and there is so much more to come. I love you so much and miss seeing your smiling face and laughing together and blowing our noses together during Spiritual Formation. We were friends from the start and I am so thankful for you and your friendship. You are an amazing woman of God and always seeking what is right in God's eyes. Keep pressing on. I know that you are crazy busy with school and you are almost done. You have worked your butt off these past 2 years at Red River and have accomplished so much. I am proud of you for sticking with it and persuing your dream. I love you Julia and I hope that you have an awesome birthday. Your sister, Kristi

RIP Amelio 23Feb-10mar 2006

After 2 beautiful...not so happy weeks our dear Amelio Oink has departed from us. We do not know the exact time of death or the exact cause.. but we know that he will be greatly missed...and that we should really think hard about bringing a new fish into our home. Ashley I think a house plant may be the safest option..unless I have a black thumb not a green one.

Amelio oink update

Sooo our fish is suicidal....I came home from grocery shopping today to find an empty fish tank..this was a sad thing because I assumed that amelio had died but then i was like hmm how could kristy have come home and flushed him. (she was working) so I was contemplating the disappearance of Amelio and to my dismay I found him on the kitchen floor beside his bowl! I was trying to pick him up for the ceremonial flush..eww and He was still alive!! I was freaking out because he was slimy and floppin around but i managed to get him back into his bowl...phew
and that was earlier today and it is now evening he is doin pretty much the same now. its weird he is the death defying..suicidal..bulimic fish. who is now probably plotting his next escape.

Poor Amelio Oink

Amelio Oink is the name of my roommates' beta fish...Amelio because he cant be francesco or juicy fruit mambo or maria because those are all jinxed names (the names of our previous fishes that died!) and Oink because he has a snout like mouth hahah.
but poor amelio has been with us for about a week or so and he hasnt been eating...he came home a brilliant light blue and red color and now he is a dull blue red its so sad he has been fighting with his food. i think he is anorexic or bulimic..he went to eat this morning and he spat out his food. I think his days are numbered. but it will be so sad if he goes he has such spunk! and then we will be accused of killing our fish off when all we do is care for them sniff sniff
so I figure if he dies he shall live on in all our memories he will be on our site so this is his tribute..I shall keep ya'll updated on his health

Pulp mills, Indian food and Sunshine

This is Jordan and our AMAZING Indian food we made ALL BY OURSELVES!!!! From left to right: saag murg (spinach and chicken and cinnamin), tomato-flavoured chicken (spicy), and beans nu shak. mmmm, it was really good. Today in Kamloops, it is beautiful and in the distance, the pulp mill is billowing. So later we are going to go explore the great downtown! Have a great weekend!

Update: I am still working with the family that I "Quit" from. there still looking for a new nanny, but I got a seccond nannying job 2 days a week for a 9 month old and a 22 month old! it;s 2 days a week and like 100 bucks a day! So now I'm working tuesday wendsday and friday for the current family and monday and thursday for this new family.

Hahah pray for me, March 10 till 14th I'm nanning 24 hours a day for 4 days straight wile their parents go to Palm Springs! Eek! I need prayer!
